The venue for the 2015 IWSM Mensura conference is Sheraton Hotel in the former capital of Poland-a beautiful city of Cracow (in Polish: Kraków). In Cracow there is an international airport.

The conference dinner will be served underground in the unique Salt Mine in Wieliczka.
Before dinner there will be organised a guided tour in English. During the tour one visits more than 20 chambers- the chapel of Saint Kinga is one of the most beautiful ones.
The temperature underground is about 13*C. That is why warm clothing is required. On the tour there are about 800 stairs to climb or down- 380 of which go down just at the start of that unforgettable adventure under the ground. So, do not forget to bring a pair of comfortable shoes with you.
Wieliczka Salt Mine (in Polish: Kopalnia soli Wieliczka), located in the town of Wieliczka in southern Poland, lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. The mine, built in the 13th century, produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world’s oldest salt mines still in operation.
The mine’s attractions include saline lakes, magestic timber constructions, dozens of extraoridinary statues, chandeliers and four chapels that have been carved out of the rock salt by many generations of miners. The oldest sculptures are augmented by new carvings by contemporary artists. About 1.2 million people visit Wieliczka Salt Mine annually.
In 1976 the Salt Mine in Wieliczka was entered into the Polish National Register of Historic Places.
Two years later the mine was listed by the UNESCO as a place of outstanding cultural importance to the common heritage of humanity.
